Tresa Jane McCann, 61, of Springfield, passed away on Friday, October 18, 2024 at her home surrounded by her family. Tresa was born on April 2, 1963, in Springfield, daughter of Richard and Helen (Myers) Cornell.
She retired from ISP and was very proud of her career path with the state. Tresa enjoyed participating in ABATE of Illinois and spent several years doing so. She was an avid Cardinals Baseball fan and enjoyed attending the games. She also loved playing poker on Friday nights with her friends and celebrating holidays.
She enjoyed spending time with her family she was always there to lead a school party or help with a project, lend a listening ear, or remind you that you were loved and capable of anything. But there was nothing she enjoyed more than being a grandma.
She is preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Sharon Nation and her twin Tracy Tomlin. She found comfort in the Twinless Twins Support group after the loss of Tracy, being a twin was a huge part of who she was.
Tresa is survived by her daughter, Holly McCann; grandchildren Samaira Cook and Preston McCann; sisters, Patty (Ted) Merano, Judy (Travis) Peden; brothers, Howard (Bobbie) Nation and David (Angelica) Connell, several nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and bonus family, as well as her beloved dogs Sophie and Ellie.
Visitation will be from 10:00AM until the time of the funeral service at 12:00PM on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at Wilson Park Funeral Home, 200 E. Main St. in Rochester.
Memorial donations may be made to the family or a charity of the donor's choice.
Wilson Park Funeral Home in Rochester is in charge of arrangements.
