Truman Burton

Albert Truman Burton, 82, of Iva, passed away Wednesday, October 26, 2022, at his home. He was born in Iva, to the late Howard and Marie Burdette Burton.
Mr. Burton retired from Hanson Aggregates (Anderson Rock Quarry) with many years of service. An enthusiastic Atlanta Braves fan, he was a member of Rocky River Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Jan Burton James; great-grand-daughter, Charley Beasley; and four brothers, Coleman Burdette, Lynwood Burton, Everett Burton, and Harlan Burton.
Mr. Burton is survived by his daughter, Alvie Kernells (Freddie) of Anderson, SC; two sons, Tim Burton (Mandy) of Iva, SC and Keith Burton (Crystal) of Kings Mountain, NC; sister, Jeanette Ware; brother, Howard Sherman Burton; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Beasley (Mitchell), Amy Wilson, Nick Wilson (Jaime), Brittany Leaders (Jeremy), Michaela Kronz, Sommer Taylor (Justin), Ashleigh Burton; six great-grandchildren, Carson James, Avery and Tucker Wilson, Hailey, Aaron and Julianna Leaders; longtime companion, Betty Smith; mother of his children, Mary Sue Marchbanks; and special friends, Ronnie and Patricia Townsend.
Graveside services will be 2:00pm, Sunday, October 30, 2022, at Rocky River Baptist Church Cemetery with Mr. Ronnie Townsend officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
The family is at the home, 80 Burton Drive, Iva, SC.
