TRUMAN LEO SHADWICK
Truman Leo Shadwick, age 94, of Belton, Missouri passed away peacefully on November 8, 2024, at Research Medical Center, Kansas City, Missouri.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at the Leavenworth National Cemetery, 150 Muncie Rd., Leavenworth, Kansas 66048.
Truman was born in Jefferson City, Missouri on February 25, 1930, the son of David Shadwick and Helen Russell. Shortly after graduating high school Truman enlisted in the United States Air Force serving his country and retiring after 20 years. He met the love of his life Betty A. Irwin, and they were later married in May of 1956 in Bellville, Illinois. Together they were blessed with three children, David, Eugene, and Holly. Truman loved playing the guitar in a country music band while in the service. He was an avid Kansas City Chiefs football fan. He enjoyed playing and spending time with his grandchildren.
Truman was preceded in death by his parents, David and Helen Shadwick; his loving wife, Betty A. Shadwick; son, Eugene Shadwick; and brother, Paul Shadwick.
He is survived by his two children, David Shadwick and Holly Loudermilk (Don); brother, David Shadwick; two grandchildren, Brian Michael Shadwick and Mitchel Shadwick Loudermilk (Hannah); four great grandchildren, Elizabeth, Brianna, Nora, and Bonnie.
