Twyla Payne Obituary

Born January 19, 1939 in Cumberland, MD, Ms. Payne was the daughter of the late Harry J. Mallow and Della Mildred (Johnson) Mallow. She was also preceded in death by her husband: Leon Payne; a son: Mark Payne; a sister: Rosalie Cowgill; and a brother: Harry Mallow.
A homemaker, Twyla was a member of the Cumberland Outdoor Club Ladies Auxiliary. She was an amazing cook and would make sure that no one would leave hungry.
Twyla is survived by her daughter: Danita Tichnell and husband Rich; her grandchildren: Randy Payne and wife Tess; Melissa Batson and husband Brian; Jeremy Payne and wife Tasha; Kevin Tichnell and wife Meghann; Dustin Tichnell and wife Kadi; Liz Hanna and husband Josh; and Garrett Tichnell and wife Amy. She is also survived by her special friend: Dale Hillegas; a sister: Vada Williams; a sister-in-law: Gay Mallow; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A committal service will be conducted at the Maryland Veterans' Cemetery at Rocky Gap on Friday, October 17, 2025 at 11:00 A.M.
