Mr. Uzziah Leeks was born on May 12, 1957, to the late Edward W. Leeks and Grace Leeks in Griffin Spalding County, Georgia. "Zeek" as he was affectionately called by his family and friends grew up in the Griffin, Georgia. He attended Griffin Spalding County Schools, where he was a member of the Class of 1975.
After high school he joined the United States Army, where he served for seven years as a SP5 Medical Specialist and was Honorably Discharged. After the military he was employed by the City of Griffin for years, where he worked until he retired.
Mr. Uzziah Leeks met the love of his life Ms. Dianne Lockett and united in holy matrimony on January 6, 1982. God blessed their union with three beautiful children.
In his leisure time he enjoyed playing golf with his family and friends, watching the Falcons games, cooking, grilling, he loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He was a "Champion" for his family.
On Tuesday, September 24, 2024, Mr. Uzziah "Zeek" Leeks entered the Heavenly Gates knowing there will be no more sickness, pain, or suffering, only everlasting joy with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward W. Leeks and Grace Leeks, and his sister, Levonia Lockett.
Mr. Uzziah "Zeek" Leeks leaves a legacy of wonderful memories to be cherish in the heart of his loving and devoted wife, Mrs. Dianne Leeks; son, Uzziah "Nip" Leeks; two daughters, Tiffany Leeks, and Courtney Leeks; seven grandchildren, Armajiyd Allen, Nylah Johnson, Azariah Leeks, Messiah Johnson, Jesse Allen, III, Aubri Leeks, and Ava Leeks; one great granddaughter, Abriella Middlebrooks; his siblings, Evangelist Rudene Buggs Jester, James D. Leeks, Jeanette Leeks, and Jerome (Annie) Leeks. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends that will miss him dearly.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 29, 2024, from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM at Burden's Funeral Home. A Home Going Celebration with Military Honors will be held on Monday, September 30, 2024, at 2:00 PM in the Chapel at Burden's Funeral Home. The body will lie instate one hour prior to the service hour. Interment will follow in Westwood Gardens Cemetery. Evangelist Rudene Buggs-Jester will Officiate and Rev. Dr. James Harris is the Eulogist
