Velma Louise Ramey

Velma Louise Ramey was born March 5, 1934 in McNairy County, TN, the daughter of the late Leroy and Birdie Whitley and the late Walter Rickman.
She was united in marriage to Clyde "Pete" Ramey on September 9, 1997. Mr. Ramey preceded her in death on February 14, 2023.
Velma was a devoted Christian, loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, working in her yard and her flowers. Traveling through approximately 40 states with her late husband Clyde was one of her greatest joys.
Velma departed this life peacefully after a long illness on November 8, 2025 in Selmer, Tennessee, surrounded by her loving family at the age of 91 Years, 8 Months, 3 Days.
She is survived by a sister, Shirley Tackett and husband Joe of Selmer, TN; two sons, Edward Flatt and wife Debbie of Selmer, TN, Danny Flatt and wife Patty of Adamsville, TN; four grandchildren: Danyell Flatt and wife Jennifer, Paul Flatt, Trey Moore and wife Molly, Beth Fowler and husband Matt; ten great grandchildren: Lilly Beth, Luke and Levi fowler, Jack and Spencer Moore, Damian Reeves and wife Morgan, Eliza Flatt, Dakota, Averi and Jayden; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Velma was preceded in death two sons, Thomas A. Flatt Jr. and Michael Glenn Flatt; four brothers: Rayman and Alton Rickman, Leon and Bobby Whitley; grandson, Calvin "Jake" Huseby; and great grandson, Ashton "AJ" Flatt.
