Vera Schimenti, 76, of Clifton passed away on March 1, 2023. Born in Montclair, she was a resident of Clifton for most of her life. Vera worked as a teller at Valley National Bank and in the circulation department for the Herald News. She later worked as a teacher's aide at Children's Garden and Grove Hill Nursery Schools, and then the Clifton School District for over twenty years before retiring in 2019.
Beloved wife of the late Anthony Schimenti who passed away in 2015. Devoted mother of Lisa Janssen and her husband Daniel of Queensbury, NY, and Robert Schimenti and his wife Christine of Cedar Grove. Cherished grandmother of Julia, Amanda, Ava, Ruby and Vincent. Loving sister of William Carroll and his wife Aida of Tennessee and the late Nancy Carroll who passed away in 2022.
Vera enjoyed spending her free time with her grandchildren. Countless memories were made from attending dance recitals, being a spectator at softball and T-Ball games, and gatherings at Grandmas.
Visitation on Saturday, March 11, 2023 1 – 5 PM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton, with a Prayer Service beginning at 3:30 PM.
