Vincent A Schimenti

Vincent A. Schimenti 82 of Clifton died Thursday March 28, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Passaic to Giuseppe & Josephine (Calandrino) Schimenti he was a lifelong resident of Clifton.
Vince was employed as a machinist for Johanson & Son Machine Corp. in Clifton for 45 years prior to his retirement in 2010. He loved to tinker in his garage and there was nothing that he could not repair or rebuild. He was always willing to help others and to be there for his neighbors and friends.
Vince was an avid boater and outdoorsman. He shared his love of nature with a generation of young men as the Scoutmaster of BSA Troop 22 in Clifton, guiding many of his Scouts to the rank of Eagle Scout. Vince loved his vegetable garden located near the Morris Canal in Clifton and building his model boats and planes.
Vince is survived by his wife of 59 years, Sandra (Wright) of Clifton, by two sons; Paul of Clifton, and Christopher & wife Melanie of Landing, by a daughter Lisa Santiago of South Plainfield, by four grandchildren; Jordyn, Jared, Kayla & Ava, and by a sister Antoinette Sobota of Deerfield Beach, FL. He is predeceased by a brother Anthony and by a sister Domenica Schimenti.
Visiting hours are 3-7PM Monday at the Allwood Funeral Home, 660 Allwood Road, Clifton, NJ 07012. Funeral prayers 6:45PM Monday. Cremation will take place privately.
