Verla Tanner Abbott

Verla Tanner Abbott, 91, of Farmington, New Mexico passed peacefully, surrounded by family on Sunday, February 8, 2026. She was born on March 9, 1934, in Snowflake, Arizona to William Allen Tanner and Blanche Sophia Turley.

Verla graduated from Farmington High School in 1952. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, crocheting and loved to read books of all kinds. Verla was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served as a Primary Teacher, Sunday School Teacher, in the Relief Society and in the Genealogy name extraction program. She also LOVED to play games and was the Yahtzee Queen of our family. Most of all she was a Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, and Great-Great Grandmother.

Verla was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Lynn Abbott, parents, William Allen Tanner-Blanche Sophia Turley, brothers, Norman Tanner, Cleon Tanner, granddaughter, Stephanie Stowell.

Verla is survived by sons, Bob (Lynne) Abbott, Ray (Dorothy) Abbott, daughters, Verlynn Smith, Lynda Gammon, Shelly Abbott, Patti (Glen) Elliott, grandchildren, Stuart Stowell, Samuel Stowell, Jared Stowell, Amber Orlandini, Todd Abbott, Brandy Abbott, Taylor Abbott, Jeanene Gregory, Katy Cicalese, Robert Jimerfield, Ken Abbott, Mark Abbott, Nicholee' Allen, Miranda Brown, Riley Elliott, Shayli Elliott, Tanner Elliott, great-grandchildren, Hayden Stowell, Hailey Stowell, Harlie Stowell, Meyrik Perrea, Zander Stowell, Makayla Vincent, Mickael Copeland, Alexa Stowell, Chrystie Middleton, Maximus Olandini, Demitri Orlandini, Hendrix Orlandini, Mila Orlandini, Jasper Olandini, RC Thurston, Alik Abbott, Chayce Junas, Autumn Junas, Echo Candelaria, Oaklyn Candelaria, Owen Gregory, Wyatt Gregory, Salvatore Cicalese, Gianna Cicalese, Hailey Abbott, Olivia Abbott, Julie Abbott, Jonah Abbott, Kayden Adams, Sycilee Allen, Jaxton Elliott, Payton Elliott, Adison Elliott, Declan Elliott, Liam Elliott, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
