Verneda "Von" Smith, age 77 of Pikeville, Kentucky passed away Thursday, October 10, 2024, at her home.
She was a teacher's aide at Mullins School and a member of the Owsley Free Will Baptist Church.
Von was born in Pikeville, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Benard and Stella Damron Daniels.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Matthew Smith, four brothers, Noah Daniels, John "JD" Daniels, James Daniels, Harold Daniels, and two sisters, Ruby Meade and Norma Lou Hamilton.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, William Smith and one brother, Millard Daniels of Pikeville, Kentucky and one sister, Billie Stevens of Wyandotte, Michigan.
Visitation will be in the J.W. Call Funeral Home Chapel after 6:00 p.m. Saturday, October 12, 2024,
Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Sunday, October 13, 2024, in the J.W. Call Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Timothy "Tbo" Daniels officiating. Burial will follow in the Damron-Daniels Cemetery on Spring Branch, Pikeville, Kentucky.
The Hurricane Fire Department will honor Verneda "Von" Smith by serving as Pallbearers.
