Mother Vernon Clara Noble passed away on Tuesday, the 19th of November 2024 at home surrounded by her family. She was 107 years of age.
Vernon Clara Noble was born on May 8, 1917, in Alamo Tennessee, to the late Sidney and Pearlie Cozart. She moved to Gibson County. She professed hope in Christ at an early age at Salem MB Church in Salem Tennessee. She attended Salem Elementary and graduated from Stagall High School. After graduation she relocated to Truman AR.
She was united in holy matrimony to Reverend Harry Noble Sr. who proceed her in death, to this union five children were born.
Mrs. Clara was a hard worker and a very good provider, worked from sunup to sundown. She was a farmer (sharecropper), an excellent cook, known for her T-cakes and homemade biscuits, rabbit and rice, sugar syrup, she retired from the Forrest City School District as a cafeteria worker. She also worked for the St Francis County Area Developmental Center, for years she worked as a foster grandparent for the Developmental Center.
Through the years Mrs. Clara has seen a lot – the U.S. Depression in the 1930s- a time she remembers were so hard, people actually died of starvation, Wars (World War II, the Vietnam War and others, dropping of the atomic bomb, passage of the 1964 Civil Rights Act, the first man on the moon, the assassination, impeachment, and corruption (Watergate) of presidents and the election of the first Black President of the United States.
One of her passions and hobbies was quilt making by hand, creating stories with each piece of material. You could find history in every quilt she made.
Mother Noble answered her call to our heavenly Father and departed this life on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, she was preceded in death by her father, Sidney Cozart; Mother: Pearlie Cozart, Husband: Reverend Harry Noble Sr., Sons: Willie Noble and Roy Chester Noble.
She leaves to cherish her memories: two daughters, Annie Frances Randle (Russell Randle), from Forrest City, AR, Donna Fay Brown of Paradise Valley, AZ.; son: Harry Noble Jr. of Conroe, Texas, and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great Grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
