Vernon Rhoades Obituary
71, of New Kensington, passed away suddenly Tuesday October 28, 2025. He was born in New Kensington on October 15, 1954 to the late Vernon H. Rhoades Jr. and Claire T. Skiffington Rhoades and was a life long resident of New Kensington.
Mr. Rhoades worked in numerous roles for Industrial Terminal for 40 years. He was a life member of 7th Street Sportsman's Club, New Kensington and a social member of Arnold #1, PLMS and the Kinloch Fire Hall.
He enjoyed socializing with family and friends, especially at 7th St. Sportsman's Club. He also enjoyed hunting at family camps in Tionesta and Mahaffey, watching the Steelers, Westerns, and Indiana Jones movies. He also adored his beloved Bug, "Lillie".
He is survived by his wife of 49 years Cindy L. Starr Rhoades, son Vernon H. Rhoades IV of New Kensington, daughter Valerie (husband Adam Shreve) Rhoades of Parks Twp., grandson Tristan Shreve, and brother Mark Rhoades (Barbie Anderton) of Franklin.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Scott David Rhoades.
Friends will be received Saturday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at THE RUSIEWICZ OF LOWER BURRELL FUNERAL HOME, 3124 Leechburg Rd at Alder St. The 7th Street Sportsman Club will have a service Saturday at 7 PM in the funeral home. The family suggests donations made in his name to the Animal Rescue League. Burial will be private in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell. www.RusiewiczFH.com
