Moffa, Veronica "Ronnie" (nee: Verdon) age 75 of Hawthorne, NJ, passed away on Sunday, October 6, 2024.
Born and raised in the Bronx, NY, Ronnie lived for 42 years in Glen Rock and most recently resided in Hawthorne, NJ. She was a dedicated parishioner of St. Anthony's R.C. Church in Hawthorne, NJ. Ronnie was a woman of deep faith with a special adoration to St. Padre Pio. She was an avid reader, loved to decorate and cook. Above all, Ronnie was a true family woman who was very involved with her nieces and nephews and cherished her time with them.
Ronnie was the beloved wife of Joseph Moffa for 55 years. Loving sister of Eileen Pascarelli and husband Gerald of Glen Rock, NJ, Maureen DeMarco and husband Stephen of Hawthorne, NJ, Teresa Scherer and husband Paul of Wyckoff, NJ and Joseph Verdon and wife Diana of Waldwick, NJ. Dear sister in law of Pat Moffa and wife Ann Marie of Yorktown, NY, Dr. Nicholas Moffa of Burlington, MA and the late William Moffa (2023). She is survived by 11 nieces and nephews and 15 great nieces and nephews.
Funeral will depart at 9:30am on Thursday, October 10, 2024, from the Browning-Forshay Funeral Home, 557 Lafayette Ave., Hawthorne, for a 10:00am funeral mass at St. Anthony R.C. Church, Hawthorne. Interment will follow at Maryrest Cemetery in Mahwah. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2:00-4:00pm and 7:00-9:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to Shriner's Hospital For Children, Attn: Office of Development, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607.
