Veronica O'Keefe Obituary Veronica 'Ronnie' Gail O'Keefe age 87, passed away peacefully Saturday morning, February 22, 2025, at the Good Shepherd Nursing Facility in Fostoria.
Born February 19, 1938, in Detroit, Michigan to Wilfred and Rhea (Rice) O'Keefe, she had been a Shelby resident for 45 years. A 1956 graduate of Wellington High School, Ronnie worked at the Market Basket as a cashier as well as a waitress at The Diner in Wellington. She had also been employed with Fisher-Titus Hospital in Norwalk as a secretary for numerous years, before becoming a stay-at-home wife and mother. During her time at home she helped with the Boy Scouts, serving as a past Den Leader for the Cub Scouts and a Committee Leader for the Boy Scouts.
Ronnie and her husband loved meeting their friends every morning for breakfast at McDonalds. Ronnie was an artist. She had a true passion for painting and often made the most beautiful pictures. She also enjoyed sewing, knitting and crafting. She looked forward to being outside tending to her flower gardens and would always have fresh flowers sitting around her home. Most of all Ronnie adored her family. She loved to be around her husband, their sons, and her grandchildren. In later years, she enjoyed the company of her younger grandchildren.
She is survived by her two sons, James David (Amy Lynch) O'Keefe II of Tiffin; Matthew O'Keefe of Crestline; grandchildren; Ryan (Emily Banks) Lynch of Sycamore, OH, Kassidy O'Keefe of Tiffin, Richard James 'R.J.' O'Keefe, Catalina Pearl O'Keefe and Elizabeth Grace O'Keefe all of Crestline; two great grandchildren Teddy James and Boone Ryan Lynch; three sisters Rosalind O'Keefe of Wellington, OH, Andrea Stemple of Grafton, OH, and Patrice Rogers of Wellington, OH; two nephews Steven Rogers of Wellington and Patrick (Tina) Rogers of Mansfield.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James O'Keefe, in 2013; sister, Barbara O'Keefe, brother, James O'Keefe and cousin, Althea Swaney.
Friends may visit the family at the Barkdull Funeral Home & Crematory Wednesday, February 26, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM. A funeral service will immediately follow at 10:30 AM at the funeral home. Reverend Nathan McBeth will officiate with interment in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Shiloh.
