ALEXANDRIA, IN – Vicki L. (Mottweiler) Sayre, 82, left us on her birthday, Monday, August 18, 2025, from Ascension St. Vincent Anderson Hospital following an extended illness.
She was born on August 18, 1943, in Anderson to Victor and Roberta (Stahl) Mottweiler and lived most of her life in the Alexandria area. She received her GED from Alexandria-Monroe High School and was a graduate of the Apex Beauty School in Anderson. Vicki started as a beautician at JC Penny in Anderson. She had also worked at RCA in Marion, Little Lakes Industries formerly of Alexandria and retired from Services and Materials formerly of Elwood. She was a member of Elwood VFW #5782. Vicki was a fun loving and active lady who always brought a good time to any gathering. She enjoyed the family fun that went with fishing, camping and boating. She was known for her country cooking with her fried chicken being a well-loved favorite. She also enjoyed watching TV westerns. If you knew Vicki, you knew she had a "way with words." Her euphemisms were catchy and would always bring a smile. You always knew where you stood with Vicki. She became a fan of the Miami Dolphins or her "fishies" as she called them. Family time was important to Vicki, especially the time she got to spend with her grands and great grands. We will miss her sassiness but will fondly remember her smile and spunk.
