Ms. Vicki Lynn Singleton

Ms. Vicki Lynn Singleton was born in Jackson, MS to Edna Marie Nichols Singleton and JobieMartin on March 23, 1957. Vicki was raised in a loving home with her mother and older brother, Derek. Vicki peacefully transitioned life on Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at Manhattan Nursing and Rehabilitation Center with her daughter, Marla, at her bedside.
Vicki attended Holy Ghost Catholic School during her primary school years. She attended Lanier High School and later completed her GED. Vicki was baptized in the Catholic faith and later attended Cathedral AME Zion Church and St. Thomas Missionary Baptist Church.
Those who knew Vicki will remember for her zest for life and her laughter. She loved her family. She was always giving advice – sharing her experiences and life lessons. She never wanted to see anyone taking the wrong path.
Vicki loved good food. She loved to cook and showed love for others by frequently offering to cook a meal for them. Vicki also loved music, traveling, and watching her Dallas Cowboys. Win or lose, she would always say, "how bout them Cowboys!" Lastly, Vicki loved and dated over her only child, Marla, whom she affectionately called "Bitzbaby".
As her body grew tired, Vicki made the bravest decision of her life. She chose hospice care and told her daughter, Marla, she was ready to go to Heaven and see her mother.
Vicki was preceded in death by parents and her sister-in-law, Mary Singleton. She leaves to cherish her memory her loving daughter, Marla Singleton (Montgomery, AL); her brother, Derek J. Singleton (Jackson, MS); and her sister, Valeria Martin Davis (Jackson, MS); and a host of extended family and friends.
