Vickie Frost Obituary
Vickie Lynn Frost, aged 71, passed away on Monday, April 22, 2024, after a difficult battle with multiple illnesses. Vic was born on March 13, 1953, and was a lifelong resident of Dublin and Laurens County. He was the son of Marshall Elton Frost and Ina Re Jones Frost Swinson, and stepfather, A. P. Swinson, who all preceded him in death. Vic was also loved by two older brothers, now deceased, James Frost, and his wife, Iris, and Mitchell Frost.
Vic was a graduate of East Laurens High School Class of 1971, Middle Georgia College, and Georgia Southern University with a BS in Electrical Engineering. Vic retired from Georgia Power/Southern Company in April 2020 after 48 years of service. He took great pleasure in leading recovery teams that restored electricity after storms in many southern states.
Airplanes were Vic's passion since a young child, and he was particularly proud of receiving his private pilot's license. He could often be found at the Bud Barron Airport hanging out with flying friends and watching the air traffic. He was a member of the Civil Air Patrol and local flying clubs.
Vic was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, the Dublin Jaycees, and the Wrightsville Rotary Club.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Susan Fountain Frost; two sons, Charles Adam Frost of Atlanta, and Marshall Lynn Frost (Erin) of Augusta; four grandchildren: Charlie, Hank, Murphy Mae, and Winifred Frost; sister-in-law, Eve M. Frost Zimmerman of Atlanta; beloved aunt, Mary H. Jones of Macon; mother-in-law, Dorothy Josey Fountain of East Dublin; brother-in-law, Donald Fountain (Kay); sisters-in-law, Kathy Henderson (Leslie), Charlotte Griffin, and Nancy Harrell (Stuart), and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, April 28, 2024, at Bethlehem Baptist Church, East Dublin, GA. Visitation will follow in the church fellowship hall. Townsend Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
