Victoria Bretl of Fairfield Glade, Tennessee, formerly of Kokomo, Indiana, passed away October 3rd, 2023 at the age of 96.
She was born Sept 23 of 1927, in Two Rivers, Wisconsin to Charles J. and Mary (Moreau) Raether.
She married Guy J. Bretl on September 25th, 1948. He preceded her in death in 2021. They had been married for 73 years. Also preceding her in death was her brother, Charles V. Raether.
Victoria was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Francis Catholic Church in Fairfield Glade, Tennessee. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother as well as a gracious hostess who enjoyed having friends over for dinner and parties.
Victoria and Guy loved to travel and they travelled extensively, often with family or friends, in the United States, Europe and Russia.
Survivors include her six children: Guy M. (Barbara) Bretl, of West Allis, Wisconsin, Marjorie (Robert) Groshans of Fairfield Glade, Tennessee, Mary (Charles) Duncan of Apalachicola, Florida, Ann (Richard Finlay) Bretl of Fairfield Glade, Tennessee, Carolyn (Jeff) Cooper of Monroe, North Carolina, and James (Rita) Bretl of Noblesville, Indiana. She also leaves behind six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and a sister, LouAnn Pavlik of Janesville, Wisconsin.
Services will be held at St Francis Church in Fairfield Glade, Tennessee on Thursday November 16th at 1:00 PM.
The family would like to thank the caregivers at Good Samaritan in Fairfield Glade for all of their compassionate care and kindness.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Society.
