Victoria C. Szeremeta
A Resident of Hanover Park for 36 Years
Visitation for Victoria C. Szeremeta, 63, will be Wednesday, January 15 from 4:00pm – 9:00pm with a funeral service beginning at 7:00pm at Michaels Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 800 S. Roselle Road, Schaumburg, Illinois.
She was born June 1, 1961 in Manhattan, New York to Iva McParlane and the late Michael McParlane. Growing up her family moved around a lot, but two notable places she lived were Mahwah, New Jersey and Arlington Heights, Illinois. In Mahwah, her love of animals shined, befriending two dogs that lived across the street. While the rest of the kids in the neighborhood were afraid of Labrador Retriever and German Sheppard, Vicki gained the trust of the dogs and their owners. In Arlington Heights Vicki attended and was a proud graduate of Arlington High School. During her time there she was very involved in different clubs, loved working on the homecoming floats and lettered in archery. Outside of school Vicki was an active member of the youth group at Church of the Incarnation United Methodist Church and participated in the Appalachian Service Project all four years that she was able to. She would go on to attend Northeast Missouri State University, where she got her associates degree. During this time she would spend every moment she could in the school barn working with the horses, getting the rare honor of watching two horses give birth. She worked proudly as a veterinary technician, helping and providing shelter for many different animals over the years.
Vicki will be fondly remembered for her love of the Chicago Cubs and her passion and love of all animals, fishing and camping.
Beloved wife of over 36 years to Bill; loving mother of Christine; adored sister to Michael (Christina) McParlane, David (Laureen) McParlane, and Martha (James) Curnow, and dear friend and neighbor to many. She will be missed by all those whose lives she touched.

Vicki is my cousin. I lived next to Grandma Kee so I was always excited when Aunt Iva and Uncle Mike came to visit with the kids. We got to run and play always having a great time. She was a sweetheart and will be missed. I will always remember her kind heart and gentle ways.
