Vincent DeRico Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by A.W. Rich Funeral Home - Fairfax on Feb. 6, 2026.
Morrisville - Vincent (Vince) C DeRico, 75, passed away peacefully after a brief illness at the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington, VT on February 1st, 2026. Vince was born August 15, 1950 in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania to Charlotte (Reinhart) DeRico and Charles DeRico.

Vince grew up in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania and graduated from St Joseph's College in Philadelphia, PA with a Bachelor's of Science degree, majoring in Mathematics and Theology. Vince had many careers throughout his life including paralegal, private investigator, police officer, fire warden for the National Park Service, horse trainer, stockbroker, computer repairman, bookkeeper and general manager for several restaurants. Vince had a thirst for knowledge, so once he mastered one career, he moved on to the next.

Vince had a passion for politics and was a photographer for the Democratic National Committee during Jimmy Carters presidential run, something he was very proud of.

One of Vince's fondest memories was hiking through the Himalayas. He visited Nepal, Tibet, Bhutan and Kathmandu. He said it was one of best trips anyone could ever have.

Vince is survived by his dear friend Michele Couillard of Colchester, VT, her daughters Lindsay D'Amico of Brooklyn, NY, Madison D'Amico of Pittsford, VT and his beloved cat Frannie. Vince will be remembered for his kind and generous spirit.

Vince was predeceased by his mother Charlotte (Reinhart) Sciubba, his father Charles DeRico and his brother Charles DeRico, Jr.

Michele would like to thank his roommate, Jim Hagen, for his help over the past year and a half, his Brooklyn Heights neighbors, the non-profit Lamoille County Neighbors, RCT and the many Doctors, nurses and healthcare providers who have taken care of Vince over the past decade when he battled many ailments.

There are no memorial services planned per Vince's request. He will be buried in the Valley Forge Memorial Gardens in King of Prussia, PA in a private ceremony.

Memorial contributions can be made to the North Country Animal League (NCAL) in Morrisville, VT or to the Lamoille County Neighbors.
