Vincent Stephen Rimar Sr, 78, passed away at Saint Joseph's Living Center on March 2, 2025. Vincent was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut on January 27,1947, and son to the late Olivia (Murphy) and Charles J. Rimar Jr.
A Graduate from Bullard Haven Vocational-Technical School. Vincent dedicated his career to the Kaman Corporation as a skilled machinist from 1984 until his retirement in 2002. Though he seldom spoke of his work, his talents and contributions were significant. Upon reviewing his personal belongings, we discovered a certificate honoring his exceptional individual contributions to the success of the B-1 B Bomber Program, a testament to his commitment and craftsmanship. Beyond his professional life, Vincent had a passion for woodworking and music. Often strumming his guitar as we all sang along. He had a profound love for his family.
Vincent was a loyal and loving family member, devoted husband and father and friend to many more. He was a hardworking man who was a kid at heart. Always joking and being goofy to make us laugh or cheer us up. Through his kind heart he showed us to always look for the brighter side of things and to make sure to fill our days with laughter whenever possible.
His grandchildren called him Dibby. Dibby taught his grandchildren to always look for the magic and mystery in things as well whether it was working in the yard with him, getting their hands dirty and seeing the beauty and pride in hard work or whether they were watching adventure movies like Indiana Jones and envisioning themselves on their own crazy adventure.
Vincent was a kind, fun-hearted, and wonderful person. We love him, for who he was and the imagination and wonder for the world he has instilled in us. The family will carry fond memories of outdoor adventures and lessons learned from him forever. May we aim to always be a kid at heart and enjoy life to the fullest, honoring his memory and spirit.
Vincent is survived by his children Lisa Rimar- Breault and husband Michael J. Breault, Vincent Rimar Jr. and wife Monica, Christine Rimar-Oberdorf and husband Elmer, Elizabeth Rimar; brother Michael Rimar and wife Sheryl; sisters-in-law Barbara Penix and Lois Gosselin; grandchildren Hunter Puccino and husband Richard, Damien Oberdorf, Summer Beebe, Michael Breault, Maria Breault, Phillip Breault, Anita Breault; great-grandchildren Bisma and Aatif Breault, and many nieces and nephews.
