Thomas Oldham, 81, of Plainfield, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2025, at Villa Maria Nursing and Rehabilitation. He was the loving husband of Betty (Moffitt) Oldham for 59 years. Born in Oneco, CT, he was the son of the late William Oldham, and Bertha (Jaskot) and Edward LaCourse.
Tom grew up on "The Hill" and lived most of his life there. He graduated from Plainfield High School in 1961. He worked for Robertson Paving and Cliff Green & Sons as a paver and a truck driver. He had a business seal coating driveways and parking lots. He also served in the Army Reserves for six years.
Tom enjoyed country music, especially Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, and the Highway Men. He loved going for his daily drives and walks. He would love to wave to all that went by while he sat on the wall at Gara Pond. In his youth, he loved playing baseball. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, dancing to "The Twist," and the Brooklyn Fair. He was most proud of his family and loved spending his time with them. He was a hard worker, a true friend, and a kind and caring man, who would help anyone in need.
