Vincent G. Shehorn

Vincent G. Shehorn, 61, of Mount Vernon, IL, passed away at 5:10 am July 30, 2025 at his residence in Mount Vernon, Illinois. He was born January 13, 1964 in Mount Vernon, IL to the late Alva V. Shehorn and Carolyn Louise (Littrell) Smith. Vincent married Judith "Judy" (Shelton) Shehorn on September 24, 1982.

In addition to his wife and mother, Vincent is survived by his children, Shannon Michelle Henry and husband, Brad and George Wade Shehorn and fiance Cassandra; grandchildren, Kaley Treffert, Drake Henry, Bentley Shehorn, Evan Shehorn, Destiny Hardig and Bentley Ibarra; brothers, Shawn Crunk and wife, Lee Ann, London Soloman and wife, Carol and Jason Shehorn; sister-in-laws, Karen Helpinstine, Linda Patterson and husband, Bob and Georgeanna Boughers and husband, Larry; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his father and step father, Lee Smith, Vincent was preceded in death by his brother, Wesley Shehorn; nephew, Wesley Shehorn, Jr., father-in-law and mother-in-law, George and Jean Shelton and his grandparents.

Vincent worked for the City of Mount Vernon for many years, where he retired as a mechanic in 2022. He will be deeply missed.

A Visitation will be held Saturday, August 2, 2025 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Newell Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois. A Funeral Service will begin at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow at Opdyke Cemetery in Opdyke, IL. Memorials may be made in Vincent 's honor to Opdyke Cemetery.
