Vincenzo Pitasi, of Mount Kisco, and formerly of Pellegrina di Bagnara, Italy, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2025, surrounded by the unwavering love of his devoted family. Born on May 30, 1950, to Domenica and Domenico Pitasi in the picturesque hillside town of Pellegrina, Vincenzo's life was defined by discipline, dedication, and a deep and abiding love for those he held dear.
A proud graduate of the CIAPI Institute of Technology in Catona, Italy, Vincenzo went on to serve his country with distinction as a Sergeant in the Italian military. In 1973, he courageously set out for the United States in search of new opportunities. It was here that fate brought him to the love of his life, Marie Falleti (predeceased in 2022). The two were married and began their life together in Fairview, New Jersey, before eventually settling in Mount Kisco, New York. Married for 46 wonderful years, Vincenzo and Marie built a warm and loving home for their two children, Dominick Pitasi of Redding, Connecticut, and Mia Dwyer of Bedford Corners, New York.
Vincenzo's professional journey included a decade at General Electric before he discovered his true calling as the owner and operator of The Tile Gallery in Mount Kisco. With his keen eye for craftsmanship, unwavering work ethic, and commitment to excellence, he built a trusted business and enduring relationships within the community, retiring in 2013.
A man of many passions, Vincenzo was an accomplished marksman and a proud member of the Mt. Pleasant Sportsman Club, where he earned the title of club champion numerous times. His lifelong love for soccer-and especially his devotion to AC Milan-was matched by his dedication to the game at the local level, where he coached in the Hudson Valley Men's League, leading his team to a league championship. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying shooting sports, fishing, and hunting with his friends and family.
Vincenzo was deeply proud of his Calabrian heritage and gave generously of his time in service to the Italian-American community. He was an active member of the Italian American Club and Casa Calabria of New Rochelle, where his contributions were recognized with the honor of Man of the Year in 2013. Vincenzo was also very proud to be American, becoming a citizen in 2001, he believed in democracy and the American spirit.
Above all, Vincenzo will be remembered for his integrity, honor, and the steadfast love he shared with his family and friends-a legacy that will continue to inspire all who knew him.
Vincenzo is survived by his children, Mia Dwyer (Michael) and Dominick Pitasi (Shaina); his cherished grandchildren Alessia, Ariana, Duke, Emilia, and Vincenzo "Enzo"; his beloved sister Maria (Antonio); his sister-in-law Joann Cerretani (Anthony); and many dear nieces, nephews, and cousins in both Italy and the United States.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in his memory to the Mesothelioma Applied Research Foundation (MARF), which funds Mesothelioma research and provides support for patients and their families.
