Violet M. Covely, one day short of 92, formerly of Allentown, passed away on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 in Gracedale Nursing Home, Upper Nazareth Township. She was the wife of the late Clarence P. Covely, who died in 2000.

Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late Lloyd L. Lick, Sr. and Matilda E. (Dettra) Lick. Violet was a sewing machine operator at Hutt & Wassaman Hat Factory for six years and worked as a cashier at the former Jamesway in Allentown for five years. She was also proud of her service to the Salisbury School District in the Cafeteria until the age of 77. Violet was a member of St. Mark's UCC and attended Jerusalem Western Salisbury Lutheran Church. She enjoyed playing Bingo, reading, watching the Phillies and going to the casino. Known affectionately as Nana, Violet's true passion was caring for her grandchildren and other children in her life.

Survivors: Daughters, Kathleen M. Haklar and her husband Richard of Coopersburg and Dawn M. Cressman of Salisbury Township; sons, Wayne P. Covely, Sr. and his wife Debra of Salisbury Township and Brian K. Covely and his wife Brenda of Wescosville; 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Violet was also preceded in death by a daughter Debra Covely, son-in-law Roger Cressman, two sisters and three brothers.

Services: A funeral service will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, October 18, 2025 in the K.V. Knopp Funeral Home, 46 E. Susquehanna Street, Allentown. A viewing for relatives and friends will be held from 9 AM until the time of the service. Interment will follow at Cedar Hill Memorial Park, Allentown.
