Violet had an outgoing personality. Her patience and listening skills were an asset to her in her career as a schoolteacher. Violet touched many lives, she was loved and she will be deeply missed.
Violet is survived by her former husband, Keith Cummings, who was also her nursing home roommate and friend; son, Tom Cummings; daughter-in-law, Kathy Cummings; grandchildren, Thomas and Sarah; sisters, Patty Turrill and Faye Casto.
Some thoughts from her grandchildren:
"Violet was a very caring & loving grandmother. I remember making jam with her in her kitchen in Cambridge and selling it at farmer's markets. I started helping her at 4 years old and our little motto was "She makes it & I'll sell it." Violet will truly be missed and may she rest in peace." – Thomas, grandson
"I'm so glad to have had such an amazing person as my grandma. She gave the best advice to anyone because she actually had the patience to listen to their story. She touched so many with her words, and as her spirit lives on I hope memories of her inspire you to do the same.
