Violet Williams Obituary

Violet Piccola (Hibler) Williams, 94, passed away at home surrounded by her family on August 28, 2025, following a recent hospital stay.

Born in Farmersville on December 5, 1930, to Andy and Hettie Hibler, Violet grew up as the fifth of seven children. Though she was raised on a farm, she was quick to admit she was never much of an animal lover. She worked at a glove factory, loved to dance, and spent her younger years sharing laughter and mischief with her siblings.

At a local dance, Violet met Bob Williams. Though she claimed she didn’t care for him at first, Bob quickly won her heart, and the two were married in May 1954 following his return from service in the Korean War. Together, they raised three children: Pam (1955), Tim (1957), and Kellie (1965).

Violet cherished her role as a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Pam made her a grandma in 1976 and again in 1978, followed by Tim in 1987, giving her three beloved granddaughters. Her granddaughter Terra later promoted her to great-grandma with three children in 1997, 2001, and 2005, and Bailey added two more in 2012 and 2014, blessing Violet with five great-grandchildren in total. She was also dearly loved by her many nieces, nephews, and all who had the joy of knowing her.

Violet had a gift for loving children and worked at We Care Preschool until the age of 80. She treasured cooking Sunday dinners for her family and often extended her hospitality to anyone at her table, including her home health providers in later years. Fiercely loyal and endlessly thoughtful, she remembered every birthday, checked in during times of illness, and celebrated every achievement, big or small.

Known for her stylish sense of fashion, Violet was always well dressed and up to date with the latest trends—though she disliked surprise parties and being the center of attention. She loved the sunshine, boating at the lake, and staying tan, despite never learning how to swim.

Above all, Violet’s greatest joy was her family. She shared her life, her love, and her laughter with them, and even as her mobility declined in recent years, she continued to be the heart of her family.

She leaves behind a legacy of warmth, devotion, and love that will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
