Bagnell & Son Funeral HomeVirgil Larry Keen, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on September 8, 2025, at the age of 79 in Slidell, Louisiana. Born on June 2, 1946, in Columbia, Mississippi, he lived a full life filled with cherished memories and lasting friendships.
Larry carved out a successful career as a salesman in the automotive paint industry, where his charm and dedication not only made him a respected professional but also helped him build lasting friendships throughout his years in the field. He was known for his warm smile and easy-going nature, making him a joy to work with and a true asset to his colleagues.
A devoted family man, Larry adored spending time with his loved ones, particularly his grandchildren, whom he treasured dearly. He took great pleasure in spoiling them and creating lasting memories together. Whether it was fishing at his camp in Buras, Louisiana with his wife and friends, or enjoying sunny days at the beach and pool with his grandchildren, Virgil’s heart was always at home with his family. His love for them was boundless and will remain a comforting legacy in their lives.
Larry is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Rachel Keen, who stood by his side through every joy and challenge. He leaves behind a proud legacy in his children, Christopher Keen (Danielle) and Christina Quigg (Robert), and in his grandchildren, Peyton Quigg, Parker Quigg, and Daniel Keen, as well as step-grandchildren Dallas, Kiley, and Grayson, all of whom carry forward his spirit of kindness and compassion.
He joins his dear departed parents, Virgil Leon Keen and Enola Faye Spiers, in eternal rest. As we remember Larry, we celebrate a life well lived and a soul who touched the hearts of many.
His burial service will take place at the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Slidell, Louisiana, on September 15, 2025, beginning at 10:00 AM. Friends and family are invited to gather and honor a man whose presence will be sorely missed but whose impact will forever remain.
Virgil Larry Keen's life serves as a beautiful reminder of the importance of family, friendship, and the moments that truly matter. He will be remembered for his unwavering love, his dedication to those he held dear, and his ability to bring joy into the lives of others.
