Virginia Louise Caler, age 70, passed away on Thursday, March 13, 2025 at Mercy Hospital in Pittsburg, KS.
Virginia was born January 26, 1955 in Chanute, KS daughter of the late Jackie L. Starliper and Mable L. (Cook) Starliper. She grew up in Savonburg, KS. She attended grade school in Elsmore, KS and attended Marmaton Valley High School in Moran, KS.
She had several jobs over the years, but her last and favorite was at Pittsburg State University working in the Housing Unit. She enjoyed the students in her dorm as well as the colleagues she worked with.
Known as Softy to her family, she was always there to help when needed. She loved her family very much.
In addition to her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by her infant daughter Angel ; a brother John C. Starliper ; and her longtime companion Norman Gideon.
Survivors include her sister, Janice Janssen and husband David of Savonburg, KS; several nieces and nephews including Bobby Genn and wife Kaitlyn of Carl Junction, MO; along with several great nieces and nephews. She will forever be missed by all.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary with private family services to take place at a later date
