Ms. Virginia Lee Johnson Collins, 58, of Richmond, passed away on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at the St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington.
She was born in Lexington, Kentucky on March 14, 1964, the daughter of the late Archie & Myrtie Marjorie Wilson Johnson. After graduating from Lee County High School, she attended and graduated from the Eastern Kentucky University with a bachelor's degree. Virginia worked at the Lexington Clinic as a Payment Analyst and was a member of the Salem Christian Church.
Survivors include: her daughter, Marisa Danielle Swango; her former husband, Obra Collins, Jr.; one brother, David Chester Johnson; one sister, Pauline Johnson Montgomery; three grandchildren, Jaycen David Mills, Ryan Michael Thomas, and Malachii W. Carter; a special friend, Christine White and a host of other extended family and friends.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 11 AM Saturday, January 14, 2023, at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home, W. Main St., Richmond, with Bro. Elmer Thomas and Johny Collins officiating. Burial will follow in the Salem Cemetery at Poosey Ridge.
Visitation will be from 5-8 PM on Friday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be: Jerry Collins, Mike Collins, Robert Collins, Jimmy Collins, Jaycen Mills and Matt Collins.
The Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home, W. Main St., Richmond, is in charge of the arrangements.
