Virginia L. Hawkins, 81, of Hutchinson, died January 22, 2025, at Wesley Towers. She was born September 19, 1943, in Hutchinson, Kansas the daughter of Virgil Williamson and Lois Smith, Williamson.
She was a graduate of Nickerson High School and had several vocational certificates. She had worked as a carpenter then as a long-haul transporter and Hallmark before retiring.
On March 16, 1996, she married Ferdinand Hawkins in Hutchinson, she is survived by her daughter, Laura Williamson, Fairhope, Alabama and three grandchildren, Lillian, Christopher and Katherine. Other survivors include a sister and brother-in-law Juanita & Dr. Gary Brewer, Mission, Kansas, a brother Jerry Williamson, Texas and a sister in-love Pattie Williamson, California. Surviving cousins include Norman & Mary Byers, Virginia, Gary W. Byers, Colorado and Todd G. Byers, Washington. She was preceded in death by her loving husband and younger sister along with both parents.
Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Fairlawn Burial Park. Visitation will be 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday. At Hutchinson Funeral Chapel. Memorials may be given to the YMCA of Wichita, KS to benefit the Parkinson's Will Power program.
