Williamson Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Services- - FranklinVirginia "Ginny" Lee Nickerson (70) of Franklin, TN, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2025, surrounded by her loving family and friends, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born on May 19, 1955, in Nashville, Tennessee, Ginny was a beloved daughter, wife, mother, stepmother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Ginny’s greatest joy was found in the people she loved. She was deeply devoted to her family and friends, always offering her time, support, and unconditional love. Her home and heart were always open, and she made everyone feel seen, valued, and cherished. The strength of her relationships was a true reflection of the kindness and loyalty she gave so freely.
Ginny is survived by her daughters Marti Martin (Reggie) and Sarah Martin; her stepdaughter Jennifer Thomas; and her stepson Brad Shaw (Billie). She was a proud and loving grandmother to Dion Martin, Marcus Anderson, and Keely Coure (Michael).
She is also survived by her sisters Sydney Ward-Snyder (Becki) and Kathy Parks; and by her nieces and nephews: Jason Parks, David Tiffin (Amy), Tara El-Bey, Niki Mabry (Ron), Kari Baker (Jake), and Samantha Hines (Jake). She leaves behind an abundance of great-nieces and great-nephews.
Ginny’s cherished circle of friends, who were like family, provided steadfast love and support throughout her life and were especially dear to her during her illness. Their unwavering presence was a source of great comfort and joy.
She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Virginia McMillin, and father, Sidney McMillin; her husband, William Nickerson; her brother, Dan McMillin; and her sister, Becky McMillin.
Ginny’s life was filled with love, laughter, and strength. She faced every challenge with grace and courage, and her legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
A memorial Service will be conducted on Friday, September 19, 2025, at 4:00 PM at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation with the family after 2:00PM.
