Virginia Steigerwald transitioned peacefully on December 27, 2024. She is preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Grace Moore, late husbands Laurence Kovacs and Norman Steigerwald.
She will be missed and lovingly remembered by her daughter Kim (Paul), son Chris (Connie). Grandchildren Ronnie (Leah), Bryant (Shadoe), Patrick, Christopher (Rachel), Chelsea (Thomas), Cassidy, Carter and Courtney. Great Grandchildren Natalie, Ronnie, Devhree, Brantlee, Shaya, Axton, and Eli. Her dear sister Joan (John), brother Charles (Rose), and many nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.
Virginia liked to cook and bake for her family, friends and neighbors.
After retiring from Schoolcraft college, she moved to her northern Michigan home where she loved the sunsets and night sky. She enjoyed watching birds at her feeders and gardening. Her grandchildren have many fond memories of the times they spent with her up north. Virginia enjoyed going to auctions and collecting antiques with her late husband Norm. They were also active together in the local VFW organization.
May she be at peace and know how much she is loved and admired for her strength and love of life.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place and no formal services will be held.
