Virginia "Frankie" Alvey Stich, born June 22, 1936, passed away peacefully at her home on July 22, 2025, at the age of 89.

A devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Virginia's life was one of unwavering love, quiet strength, and tireless dedication to her family. She was truly the rock of her family. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jacob J. Stich III, and her cherished son, Michael Anthony Stich (Tony) and two beloved sons-in-law, Jimmy Barrett and Ricky Wyatt.

Virginia is survived by 11 loving children: Pam Van Leur (John), Candy McMahan (Bill), David Stich (Joanie), Penny Barrett, Nicky Stich (Yvonne), Chrissy Wyatt, Missy Ochsner (Mike), Mary Zipfel (David Looney), Becky Stich (Emmett Stoess), Shelly Linker (Keith), and Diane Ernst (Kelly); 23 beautiful grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Ben Alvey, her sister, Sue Reinert and beloved sister-in-law Sue Ellen Strunk.

She was a graduate of Sacred Heart Academy, Class of 1955, and a former employee of Dismas Charities, where she worked for 19 years and was loved by all who worked alongside her.

Virginia will be remembered for her generous spirit, her love of cooking and baking and her boundless love for her family. Her strength, grace, and enduring love will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered.

Funeral Services will be held at 3 pm on Saturday, July 26, 2025 at Ratterman Funeral Home, 3711 Lexington Road, St. Matthews with burial to follow in Cave Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12 pm until time of service at 3 pm at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Hosparus or Dismas Charities.

Love the energy of your wonderful family! Virginia was my friend at Dismas for many years. It brought me much joy to watch her video... always surrounded by so much love. I can only imagine how much you will miss her, but also how many cherished memories you have. Good job as always, Virginia, one of a kind. Your work on earth has been amazing.. rest in peace!
