Virginia Watts Stinson was born January 10, 1938 in Mecklenburg County, and peacefully departed this life on July 8, 2022 at Autumn Care of Cornelius, NC. She was preceded in death by her Father and Mother, Nathaniel & Cleo Watts. Following the death of her parents, she continued too be raised by James and Roberta Derr. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Curlee Stinson, and brother, Ossie Don Watts.
Virginia was a graduate of Torrence Lytle High School, Class of 1956.
In her earlier years, she was a conference worker, and missionary of her church. She was employed by the SAE Fraternity House of Davidson College for 20 years before retiring. She was well known in her community and surrounding area for baking Sweet Potato Pie, and especially the Egg Custard.
Virginia leaves to cherish her life; three daughters, Treva D. Watts of Cornelius, NC, Colette Bailey (Phillip) of Charlotte, NC, DeVondia Stinson of Cornelius, NC; one granddaughter, Amber Stinson; two great grandchildren, Cadence Stinson and Dacian Stinson; one sister in law, Addie Brownlee of Long Island, NY; a god sister, Joan Johnson "Tootsie" of Cornelius, NC; god brother, Dwight Hope (Sharon) of Charlotte, NC,' and one special step sister, Betty Jean Cornelius, NC.
