Vivian M. Boss of Chamois, Missouri, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2025, at the age of 84. She was born on September 16, 1940, in Bonnots Mill, Missouri, the daughter of the late Eugene and Mary (Backes) Vogel. She married Larry Boss on June 18, 1960 and they would remain married for 62 wonderful years until Larry's passing in June 2022.
A proud graduate of Chamois High School, Vivian dedicated 26 years to working at United Bank. She was a tireless caregiver and homemaker, raising her own daughters while also babysitting for many others in the community. Vivian was known for her incredible talent as a seamstress, sewing clothing, drapes, and other items for everyone she knew.
Her faith was at the center of her life, and she was deeply involved in her church and community. For many years, she served as a CCD teacher, sharing her knowledge and love of the sacraments with young children. Vivian was an active participant in the Community Choir, 4-H, and numerous church activities, always giving selflessly of her time and energy.
Vivian's loving family will carry on her memory, including her daughters, Kimberly Trachsel (Wayne), Karen Kuschel (Kent), Kathy Brandt (Jerry), all of Chamois, and Kelly Maxwell, of Jefferson City brother, Michael Vogel (Edna) of Jefferson City; sisters, Dolores Scheuler of Jefferson City, Genie Bisges (Gilbert) of Wardsville, Judy Birk (Joe) of Lohman, and Kay Bondurant (Jerry) of Jefferson City, brother-in law, Chuck Duemmel of Holts Summit.; as well as her grandchildren, Kirsten Dunn (Tim) of Chesterfield, Emily Frank (Shawn) of Loose Creek, Kurt Kuschel (Katie) of Linn, Shawna Surman (Tyler) of Ballwin, Sarah Baker (Dave) of Loose Creek, Jacob Trachsel (Amanda Rackers) of Chamois, Kyle Kuschel (Kellein) of Chamois, Klayton Kuschel (Kelsi) of Morrison, and Allison Maxwell (Derrick McGreevy) of Olathe, Kansas. She also leaves behind 20 cherished great-grandchildren.
Vivian was preceded in death by her sister Martha and two brothers-in-law, Ron Schueler and Lester "Shorty" Trachsel.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests expressions of sympathy be made to Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church, where Vivian's faith and service touched many lives.
Friends and family will be received on Saturday, January 25, 2025, from 09:30 am to 11:00 am. At Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church. A Memorial Mass will follow at 11:00 am with Father David Means officiating. Burial will take place at Most Pure Heart of Catholic Cemetery on a later date.
Vivian's kindness, generosity, and unwavering faith will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her legacy of love and service will continue to inspire those she leaves behind.
