Donald Edward Meyer, age 88, of Jefferson City passed away on September 27, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 29, 1937 in Edwardsville, IL to the late Cosmas J and Stella E. (Dickmann) Meyer.

His early schooling started at St. Boniface Catholic grade school. In 1952 Don attended Pontifical College Josephenum in Columbus, Ohio. They lived in Granite City, IL and St. Louis, MO prior to moving to Jefferson City in 1966, where Don accepted a supervisory position with Chesebrough Ponds Co. (Unilever).

In 1973 Don and JoClare opened J & D Bicycle shop, 610 Jefferson St., Jefferson City, MO retiring in 2014.

In retirement, as a member of Learning in Retirement and Hawthorn Bank Elite Advantage Club, Don and JoClare traveled through the USA and abroad. His favorite was a trip to England, Scotland and Wales with Elite Advantage Club. They were entertained by a male chorus in Wales, witnessed the Scottish Tatoo, visited castles in Scotland and live theater in London, plus a spur-of-the-moment tour of Buckingham Palace in London. When not traveling, Don rode bikes with friends on the greenway or the Katy trail.
