Vivian Herrington Gunter, age 87, of Lawrenceville, GA passed away on Saturday, November 1, 2025. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Vera Brady Herrington; son, Jerry Michael Gunter, sisters, Christine Bailey, Angie Rogers; brother, Troy Herrington; grandchild, Hannah Boyd; son-in-law, Scott Martin. Mrs. Gunter is survived by her husband of sixty-eight years, Jearold W. Gunter; children, Cindy (Ken) Chaffin of Lawrenceville, Lisa Martin of Buford, GA, Allen Gunter of Lawrenceville; six grandchildren, Christy (Chris) Thiessen, Melissa (Rob) Medina, Morgan Chaffin, Collin (Kelly) Boyd, Kyle (Kayla) Martin, Tyler Martin; six great-grandchildren, Graham Medina, Eleanor Medina, Edie Thiessen, Bo Boyd, Nell Boyd, Ollie Boyd; nieces and nephews, Carol Gunter, Greg Gunter, Russell Gunter, Brian Gunter, Donna Bohn, Sonya Johnson, Kelley Bailey, Josh Bailey, Daniel Bailey, Teresa Gunter, Wendy Ramsey, Susan Dobrow; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Richard (Sharyn) Gunter, Elizabeth (Jerry) Martin. Mrs. Gunter was born March 23. 1938 in Lawrenceville, GA. In 1956, she graduated from Lawrenceville High School. Mrs. Gunter retired from Linens and Things after ten years of service. She also was a retail manager for Roses Department store in Lawrenceville for many years. Mrs. Gunter was a member of Prospect United Methodist Church located in Lawrenceville, GA. A Funeral Service will be held at Prospect United Methodist Church (1549 Prospect Road, Lawrenceville, GA 30043) at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 6, 2025 with Rev. Ted Keen and Rev. Joe Gaunt officiating. Interment will follow at the Prospect United Methodist Church Cemetery located in Lawrenceville, GA. Mrs. Gunter will lie-in-state at the church on Thursday, November 6, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. until time of the service at 2:00 p.m. The family will receive friends at Flanigan Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 4, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
