W. Patrick Gunter, 57, beloved companion of Cledith Smith, left his earthly home Friday, December 9, 2022. Patrick was born October 7, 1965 in Hempstead, New York, to Evelyn Agnes Gries Gunter and the late James Frances Gunter. He joined the U.S. Army in Tampa, FL and served from 1984-1986. After moving to Kentucky, Patrick worked as a Fire Fighter. In his free time, he enjoyed watching football, especially the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In addition to his special companion Cledith and his mother Evelyn, Patrick is survived by his children, Dara Marie Gunter, Morgan Reilly Jordan, and Maxwell Alexander Gunter, as well as his sister, Kelly Dorr. A Graveside Service at Camp Nelson National Cemetery with military honors is planned for the spring, and details will be available here on our website as soon as plans are completed. "Taps: Day is done, gone the sun from the lake, from the hill, from the sky. All is well, safely rest. God is nigh. Thanks and praise for our days 'neath the sun, 'neath the stars, 'neath the sky. As we go, this we know. God is nigh." Hager & Cundiff values nothing more than the trust given to us to care for Patrick and his loved ones.
