Waclaw Piekarski

Waclaw Piekarski, 71, of New Britain passed away Sunday, August 5, 2012 surrounded by his loving family at Hartford Hospital after a long illness. He was the beloved husband of Janina (Szkirel) Piekarski for 48 years. He was born in Poland on June 20, 1941; he was the son of the late Boleslaw and Romulda (Maciulewski) Piekarski. Waclaw was a member of Holy Cross Church, New Britain. He was employed by Atlantic Tool prior to his retirement.
He leaves his loving wife Janina and his daughters, Anna Oszmian and her husband Bogdan of Newington, Jadwiga Hines of Estero, FL, Teresa Mieldzioc and her husband Stanislaw of Griswold, Barbara Piekarski of Portland, and MaryAnna Piekarski Booth and her husband Jamie of Ft. Myers, FL; his grandchildren, Michal, Joanna and Alexandra Oszmian; Kathryn, Stanislaw and Thomas Mieldzioc; Michelle, Kasey and Nicky Sienko. He is also survived by his brothers Stanislaw Piekarski and his wife Waclawa of New Britain, Janina Wneta of Erie PA and Anna Markow and her husband Tadeusz of Newington and several nieces and nephews. Waclaw was predeceased by his brothers and sister, Franciszek and Antoni Piekarski and Leokadia Zaremba.
His funeral service will begin on Thursday, August 9th, 9:00 a.m. at the Burritt Hill Funeral Home, 332 Burritt St., New Britain, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Church. He will be laid to rest in Sacred Heart Cemetery, New Britain. Relatives and friends are invited to call Wednesday, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Burritt Hill.
