Waclawa Szatkowski, age 85, of Aurora, IL, passed away peacefully at home on September 24, 2024.
Cherished daughter of the late Feliks and Maria (Blaz) Wrotniewski and sister to the late Irek. Beloved mother of Joanne (Richard) and Mark (Kate). Devoted grandmother of Grace, Robyn, Luke, Mark Eryk, Timothy, and Emma; and loving aunt of Marzena Wrotniewska.
Wacia came to the U.S. from Poland as a young woman and made a beautiful life, filled with family and friends. She worked hard, and made every moment count. She taught Polish school at St. Maksymillian Kolbe School for years and was a devoted Catholic. She doted on her children and grandchildren any chance she could.
In Alzheimer's she lost her memory, but not her spirit. She spent the last years of her life with her children and grandchildren, making them laugh and teaching them about patience and love. She is now in heaven with her memory back, singing and dancing with all her loved ones.
Visitation Saturday, September 28, 2024, 9 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. Muzyka & Son Funeral Home, 5776 W. Lawrence Ave., Chicago. Mass of Christian Burial 11 a.m. Saint Constance Catholic Church, 5843 W. Strong St., Chicago. Interment Maryhill Catholic Cemetery.
