Waite Tyrone "Ty" Fowler, Sr., 86, of Burlington, NC passed away at Peak Resources in Graham on Sunday, February 23, 2025.
A native of Erwin, NC, he was the husband of the late Rebecca "Jane" Fowler who was the love of his life and the son of Arthur Franklin Fowler, Jr. and Clara Gertrude Barbour Fowler, both deceased.
Ty attended Elon University. He later worked and retired from Payne Oil Company. Ty was also a key part in establishing "Raygo Mart" in Burlington and Snow Camp where he was loved by many when he worked there for 24 years. He was a longtime member of Faith Community Church in Burlington where he made his lifetime friends. Ty also loved having fun, joking, and spending time with his granddaughters. He was always their biggest cheerleader and they were the lights of his life.
Survivors include his son and sidekick, Waite Tyrone "Ty" Fowler, Jr. and wife Tammy, the beloved daughter-in-law of Burlington; two granddaughters, Morgan Fowler of Wilmington and Meredith Fowler of Burlington; a sister, Rebecca Wade and husband Glen of Erwin, NC; and many beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, A. F. Fowler, III and Hoyt Fowler.
The funeral service will be conducted at Faith Community Church on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. by Pastor Joseph Seay with the family receiving friends from 12:30 until 1:30 p.m. prior to the service.
