Walid A. "Wally" Kassir

Walid A.Kassir, 90, passed away peacefully at home February 20, 2026. He was born in Baghdad , Iraq to Dr. Abdulla and Mari Kassir. He immigrated with his family to the U.S.A in the early eighties to join other family members in Virginia Beach. Later he became a naturalized citizen, a source of great pride and was afforded the opportunity to launch a successful business career with his brother.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Rita and his two sons John and Basil, his sister Dr. Khalida Kassir and his brother Dr. Zuhair Kassir. He is survived by his two sisters Aida Toma, Faiza Shammas and his sister-in-law Maria and his brother Kal Kassir (Joni). He is also survived by numerous beloved nieces, nephews and cousins and their children here in the States and abroad.

The family wishes to express profound gratitude to his dedicated care giver Esther.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday March 7, 2026 at H. D. Oliver Funeral Apts. Laskin Road. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to your favorite charity.
