"Sir" Henry Wallace "Wally" Campbell went home to be with the Lord on June 23, 2025, after a courageous battle.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Jasper Campbell and Myrtle Belle Beavers Campbell; brother, Billy Bradley Campbell; baby sister, Ruth Ann Campbell.
Wally is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Vivian Campbell of Dalton; children, Dianne Brooks (Tony Defore) of Dalton, Tracey (Karl) Bartley of Calhoun, Scott (Eleanor) Campbell of Bothell, WA; grandchildren, Ashley (Seth) Langston, Valerie (Chuck) Simmons, Chandler (Monica) Bartley, Carson (Rebecca) Bartley, John Brooks and Jacob Brooks; great-grandchildren, Mallory Langston, Paigey Langston, Lucas Betterton, Ivy Langston, Connor Brooks, George Bartley and Hudson Bartley; brothers, Jim Campbell of Texas, and Donnie Campbell of Dalton; sister-in-law, Marcelle Campbell of Barnesville; multiple nieces and nephews.
We lovingly referred to Wally as "Sir Henry" following a trip to Europe in which he was addressed this way. He was always fun-loving, and ready with a great story. He was the greatest storyteller ever.
To know Wally was to love him and if you knew him, you probably walked away with a story of your own.
He had a 33-year career with the Georgia Department of Transportation, but retired at only 53 years old and went on to find his true calling as a realtor. He made many great friends and a little bit of money! Wally and Vivian were able to travel to several international destinations but also traveled 9,000 miles across the United States in their motor home. It was a true adventure and he loved a great road trip.
He loved his family unconditionally and without hesitation. He will be missed, but we know he will be waiting for us when we join him in Heaven. If you do not know Jesus as your personal Savior, we would love to tell you about our Jesus and how He can change your life.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 26, 2025, at 3:00 PM at Grove Level Baptist Church with Dr. Charlie Bridges officiating and family members sharing eulogies.
The family will receive friends at Grove Level Baptist Church on Thursday from 11:00 AM until the service hour of 3:00 PM.
Burial will be at West Hill Cemetery with Scott Campbell, Karl Bartley, Chandler Bartley, Carson Bartley, John Brooks, and Jacob Brooks serving as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Grove Level Baptist Church.
Messages of comfort may be sent to the family at www.julianpeeples.com.
