Walter Charles Bougher of Lakeland, FL went to his heavenly home on Tuesday, February 25, 2025. He lived 94 happy years. Walter was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on January 2, 1931 to Samuel N. Bougher and Beatrice V. Rome along with his siblings: Norma Koch (Bougher), Samuel Bougher, Margaret Hall (Bougher) and Robert Bougher. He proudly served in the United States Navy and Marine Corp. He married the love of his life, Ruth M. Gulla on October 26, 1957. They spent 58 blessed years together. Walter's hobbies included painting and woodwork. In his later years, he enjoyed watching old cowboy and Indian movies/shows with his son in law. During Walter's life, he traveled to Korea, Bermuda, Canada, Mexico and Germany. He was a very social and loveable man.
Walter is survived by his daughter and son in law Donna and Mike Cole, his daughter Kathleen Bougher and his daughter Ruth Worsley. He had 7 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Walter had a few very close friends: Ed, Lee, Trish and Connie among others.
Walter, we all love you and you will be missed greatly.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, February 28, 2025. The visitation will be held from 10am - 11am in the Chapel followed by a graveside service at 11am. All services will be held at Lakeland Funeral Home and & Memorial 2125 S. Bartow Road Lakeland, FL 33801.
