Walter Jeffery “Jeff” Crawford, 76, passed away on July 12, 2025, in Oklahoma City. Jeff was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and beloved “Jefe” to many.
Born in Tylertown, Mississippi to Walter and Pat Crawford, Jeff cherished his childhood surrounded by extended family. He attended Ole Miss and, after graduating, set off to travel and find his next adventure. Jeff eventually made Austin, Texas his home, where he met and married the love of his life, Mary Cris Jennings. Together, they raised twin daughters and built a beautiful life in Austin. Jeff worked for many years as a civil engineer and later, found great joy in competitive rowing and woodworking—two passions he pursued with skill and heart. He also cherished time spent with his family and in 2023, Jeff and Mary Cris moved to Oklahoma City to be closer to their daughters and grandchildren.
Jeff will be remembered always for his unwavering love and commitment to his family and friends. His talents in carpentry, his strength and discipline as a rower, and his kindness and wit will leave a lasting legacy.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Mary Cris; daughters Rachel Huchton (Jake) and Lydia Kelley (Clayton); sister Julie Phillips (Ed); grandchildren Leigh, Crawford, Paige, and Cooper; and many other cherished family and friends.
