If you had the privilege of knowing Walter Thomas Glaser then you know that he lived his life with this sentiment: Cherish your yesterdays, dream your tomorrows, and live your todays.
Our beloved Walter Thomas Glaser passed away peacefully on June 20, 2022 with his loving wife Teri by his side as she has been for 43 years.
Now, please don't be sad. Walter was fueled by his strong faith. It guided him throughout all of life's journeys and it is what helped him find peace. Instead, help us celebrate Walter's life and more than anything, let's all be a little more like Walter. Walter would want us all to carry on and in doing so we will carry him in our hearts.
If you looked up the definition of "Renaissance Man" in the dictionary you might likely see Walter's picture. He was an outstanding chef, a classical guitarist, an accomplished artist, a master gardener, a physician, a storyteller and more than anything, a man who cared deeply about people.
As an OB/GYN, Walter never tired of delivering babies. He welcomed more than 5000 lives into the world. The magic of a baby's first cry and the look in the parents' eyes always made him proud and brought joy to his heart.
He loved to be around people, and he loved to explore life. He and Teri spent time at their cottage in Newfoundland, Canada, they enjoyed "leafing" in Vermont each Fall, and we could always count on him to host an unbelievable Thanksgiving Dinner with the Gavin's, Melcher's and Toninelli' s. And then as you might expect, he extended his love for exploring to travel as well. With his brother John and his nephew Tom, he traveled to the Galapagos Islands for what he always called a trip of a lifetime.
Of course, we have to give a nod to his upbringing as we celebrate the kind of man he was. Walter was born on October 10, 1953, in New York City to Herb and Ann Glaser. We know his parents and sister Catherine Glaser have welcomed him to heaven as they all watch over us. In addition to his loving wife Teri, his spirit lives on through his brothers John (Eileen) Glaser, Herb (Larry) Glaser, nephew Tom (Rachel) Glaser, niece Katie Glaser, father-in-law Bill Caulin, brother-in-law Bill Caulin (Laurie) and the many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends who have been an important part of Walter's glorious life journey.
For 68 years, Walter brought warmth, laughter, and genuine friendship into many lives. He was a most charismatic and joyful soul. And as you might have guessed, Walter was smart! He attended high school at Power Memorial High School in New York City where he graduated as class valedictorian. He graduated second in his class from St. John's University and attended New York Medical College where he earned his medical degree. Walter did his internship and residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Long Island Jewish Hospital, Queens, New York. He cherished his role as an OB/GYN, practicing in Cleveland, Ohio and North Hampton, Massachusetts.
Walter and Teri loved animals and their home was never without several dogs running around to the delight of their "human parents." Walter didn't admit to favorites but all you had to do is look into his eyes and you know that his beloved dog and constant companion Cosmo had a special place in his heart.
The Memorial Mass to celebrate Walter's life will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, July 9, 2022 at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, 1033 W 5th St. Marysville Ohio 43040 with Fr. Kevin Kavanagh officiating. Please join the family in the Parish Life Center immediately following the Mass for refreshments and a time of sharing. The family would like to thank OhioHealth for all their wonderful care. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Walter's name to one of the following: Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in Marysville or the OhioHealth Cancer Program. Gifts can be made at https://foundation.ohiohealth.com/ or by mail to the OhioHealth Foundation, 3430 OhioHealth Parkway, Floor 3, Columbus, Ohio, 43202. Arrangements entrusted to Wilson Funeral Homes, 621 W. 5th St. Marysville. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.wilsonfuneralhomes.com
If you knew Walter, we hope you are smiling as you reflect on what a special man he was. And if by chance you didn't know Walter, we hope you now feel like you did. There is no doubt that Walter made this world a better place. Most importantly, Walter will be remembered as a most loving and devoted husband. Those who know Teri know that Walter was her heartbeat and her home.
So, let's continue to do what Walter did: Cherish our yesterdays, dream our tomorrows, and live our todays... that is exactly what he would want.

I´m at a loss for words. Walter was the best doctor I ever had. When my son and I would go to New York City to visit my Dad´s family, we would stop at his family´s bakery on our way out of the city, where his parents would pile boxes of baked goods into my car, to be brought back to Northampton MA and delivered to Walter. His parents would also pose for a photo outside of the bakery.

I was a classmate of Walter at St John's and fondly remember his friendship. I and other classmates would routinely meet Walter at the bakery at closing on weekend nights and head down to Greenwich Village to listen to music. Happy he and Teri led a wonderful life.

Walt always loved to tell/listen to a good joke which we did often. We can still see him dancing with Cosmo in the basement. Thanks Walt for all the amazing memories that we will treasure. Our lives were made better just knowing you!!!
