CAMDEN, NY - Walter E. Mulvaney, 78, of Camden, NY, passed away peacefully on November 11, 2024. Born on March 12, 1946, Walter was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Janet Mulvaney; three sons, Adam (Brittany) Mulvaney, Keith (Wendy) Mulvaney, and Michael (Karolyn) Mulvaney; and eight cherished grandchildren: Travis (Rachel) Murphy, Taylor Mulvaney, Keith Jr. (Kayla) Mulvaney, Mitchell Mulvaney, Skylar Mulvaney, Cashel Mulvaney, Ryan Brown, Dixie Mulvaney, and Wilder Mulvaney. He also leaves behind two great-grandchildren, Kayce and Madison Murphy, and his siblings, Edward Mulvaney, Katherine Keil, and Helen Finch, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Walter was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Helen Mulvaney, and siblings Gladys Baker, Marion Baker, Lawrence Stevens, and Joseph Mulvaney.
A life-long farmer, whose deep love for the land and dedication to his craft not only provided for his family but also instilled a strong work ethic and a profound appreciation for nature and animals in his sons and grandchildren. Walter dedicated 55 years of service at International Wire before retiring in 2019. Camden HS class of 1964. A proud Army veteran, affectionately known as the Mulvaney's family hero, leaving us on Veterans Day, a poignant reminder of his commitment to service.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, November 15, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at LaRobardiere Funeral Home, 109 Main Street Camden, NY. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 16, at 10 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church, 35 Third St., Camden, NY 13316, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to join us in honoring his memory and sharing stories of his remarkable life in the Parish Center after burial.
Walter's legacy of love, hard work, and dedication to his family will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
