Walter R. Mauzaka, 98 yrs. October 23, 1926 - August 22, 2025

Walter proudly served his country by enlisting into the U.S. Army during World War II. He was an honorary member of the Bushmasters 158th Regiment in Arizona, of whom his brother Auggie, also served in during WW II.

For 20 years, Walter diligently and tenaciously researched the battles, government documents and background information on the Bushmasters 158th during WW II. Auggie fought courageously and heroically eventually succumbing to a bayonet through the heart on May 30th, 1944. Walter successfully attained achievement for Auggie by receiving the Silver Star posthumously for his beloved brother.

Walter is survived by his daughter, Nancy Greco (Rocky), grandchildren Sarah Shiner (Sal), and Peyton Shiner (Holly) and daughter in law Pamela Mauzaka.

He has been pre deceased by, his parents, his wife of 66 years, Charlene Mauzaka, and sons Thomas Mauzaka and Walter Mauzaka, Jr.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Connecticut Humane Society or Wounded Warriors Project.

There will not be funeral services.
