Wanda Jean Kaan (nee Jensen) passed away on April 20, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on October 21, 1948, in Boulder, Colorado, Wanda married her high school sweetheart in 1967. Together, they had two children: Michael (who preceded her in death) and Pamela Owens (John).
She is lovingly remembered by her sister, Barbara Jensen, her daughter Pamela, five grandchildren-Collin Lowe, Amanda Runes (Jordan), Mason Owens, Zachary Kaan (Leah), and Elizabeth Kaan-and nine great-grandchildren.
Wanda dedicated over 30 years to a meaningful career with the City of Boulder before retiring. A woman of deep faith, she was a devoted follower of God, spending much of her time in Bible study and with her church's women's groups.
Family was Wanda's greatest joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Affectionately known as "Sweet Wanda," she carried herself with quiet grace and strength. She never complained, kept her struggles private, and always put the needs of others before her own.
Words cannot express how deeply she will be missed.
A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 3rd at 11:00 a.m. at Risen Savior Lutheran Church in Broomfield.
